Nipple Bikini TaTa top - Rihanna Scout Willis Free The Nipple

We guarantee that no matter how racy the bikinis are in your summer wardrobe, they won't be as shocking as this latest feminist development: the nipple bikini.

The new TaTa top, marketed as "the breast bikini top ever!" (LOL), is a reaction to society's discomfort with women's breasts. Why should women be afraid of breastfeeding or scared to show their bodies in public?

As the makers of the TaTa top, Robyn Graves and Michelle Lyttle, write on their website:

"Why can't girls be topless? If you really think about it, what's the difference between a man's nipples and a woman's? Is it really just the extra breast tissue? Is it the fact that women's nipples are paired with a vagina? What is it that is so horrible that caused SUCH hysteria?"

"Honestly...stop and think for a few moments," the article continues. "Remove the cultural normalcies that have been ingrained in you and look at this situation as if you were explaining it to an alien who newly arrived on Earth. Explain why women have to cover up their chests, but not men. What reason would you give?

Well, when they say it like that, they kinda have a point.

The TaTa top comes to the forefront of breast-adorning fashion in the wake of the #FreeTheNipple movement, which has seen hundreds of women parade topless to end the double standards between genders.

The most notorious advocates of #FreeTheNipple include Bruce Willis's daughter Scout, who took to the streets topless, and Rihanna, whose Instagram account was shut down due to her nipples being exposed.

But the TaTa top is genius for all who are keen to stand up in the name of feminism - but perhaps aren't brave enough to reveal full-on boob au naturel, or who are banned from doing so where they live. The TaTa top is completely legal - throwing a spanner into the works of those who would seek to ban nipples for good (well, female nipples, that is).

The TaTa tops cost $28 (£16) with $5 from every purchase going to breast cancer charity the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation - so you can do a good deed for feminism and charity at the same time.

And TaTa have promised they are working on providing the bikini tops for various skin tones and bigger busts in the future… so watch this space.
